AI Search Optimisation

Will AI recommend your business?

More and more people are using AI tools like ChatGPT and Google to find businesses and make decisions. AI search optimisation makes sure your website is one of the ones they find — and trust.

01 — The shift

The way people find businesses has changed. Most websites haven't kept up.

A few years ago, people Googled something and clicked a link. Now they're asking AI tools for a straight answer — and those tools pick which businesses to mention. If your site isn't set up the right way, you won't be one of them.

That's what AI search optimisation fixes.

02 — AI search optimisation vs traditional SEO

Same foundation. Different goal.

AI search optimisation builds on good SEO — quality content, clear structure, technical accessibility. The difference is the end goal: not ranking higher in a results page, but being the source an AI chooses to recommend.

Traditional SEO

Get to the top of the results page. Drive clicks to your site.

03 — In practice

Get found on ChatGPT — here's what it actually looks like

Someone asks ChatGPT or Google a question your business should be answering. The AI gives a direct reply — naming specific businesses it considers credible and relevant.

If your site is set up for AI search, you're in that reply. If it isn't, a competitor is.

"Can you recommend a good accountant in Manchester for a small business?"
A few accountants in Manchester are well-regarded for small business clients...

04 — The work

Everything needed to get your site AI-ready

I go through your website top to bottom, fix what's holding you back from appearing in AI search results, and give you a clear before-and-after picture of what changed. No jargon — just practical work that makes a real difference.

01

A full review of your site

I go through your existing pages and flag everything that's getting in the way — unclear structure, missing information, things AI tools simply can't read.

02

Labelling your site for AI

I add invisible code that tells AI tools exactly what your business does, where you are, and who you serve — a proper introduction written in a language AI understands.

03

Rewriting pages to answer real questions

AI tools look for pages that get straight to the point. I restructure your most important pages so they answer questions clearly — the way AI expects to find them.

04

Making your business unmistakable

I make sure your name, location, and what you do are consistent and clear everywhere on your site. AI tools need to be certain about who you are before they'll recommend you.

05

Adding Q&A content

AI tools actively pull from question-and-answer sections. I build these into your key pages — written around the questions your customers are actually asking.

06

Checking AI can actually find you

Some sites are accidentally blocking AI tools from reading them. I check yours is open, fast, and accessible — because if AI can't read it, it can't recommend it.

05 — Your results

You'll see exactly what changed — and how far you've come

Every project comes with a before and after AI Search Report Card. A scored breakdown of your site across everything that matters to AI search — so you can see where you started, what was fixed, and the difference it made.

07 — Why now

Your competitors probably haven't done this yet.

AI search optimisation is new enough that most businesses haven't heard of it, let alone acted on it. The ones that do first will be the ones AI tools default to recommending — not because they paid for it, but because they took the time to show up clearly.

Once AI tools learn to trust a source, they keep coming back to it.

The window to get ahead of your competitors is open right now. It won't stay that way.

08 — Questions

Things people usually ask

I already rank well on Google. Do I still need this?

Yes — Google rankings and AI recommendations are two separate things. A site can be at the top of Google and still not appear in ChatGPT or Google's AI answers, because they look for different signals. AI search optimisation covers the gap.

Will this change my existing website or content?

Most changes are invisible to visitors — technical labelling that only AI tools see. Where we do update content, it'll be improvements your customers benefit from too: clearer pages, better Q&A sections, more helpful structure. Nothing gets changed without a conversation first.

How do I know if it's worked?

That's exactly what the Report Cards are for. You'll see the before score, the after score, and a plain-English breakdown of every change. You can also test it yourself — ask ChatGPT or Google a question your business should answer and see whether you come up.

Do I need to keep paying, or is it a one-off?

The core package is a one-off — audit, fixes, and report cards. Maintenance is optional but worth considering if you regularly publish new content or want to stay ahead as AI search keeps evolving.

My site isn't on WordPress. Can you still help?

WordPress is where I work best, but GEO principles apply to any platform. Drop me a message and we'll have a quick chat about what's possible on your setup.

How long does it take?

Most projects take one to two weeks from kick-off, depending on the size of your site. I'll give you a clear timeline before anything starts.
